Guide to Aesthetics Provider Selection

2️⃣  - Service Style

Common service styles can be described by...

  • Clinical - think about a nice doctor's office and the type of patient-doctor relationship you can expect;

  • Efficient - standardized process, lighter touch, in and out like a breeze;

  • Bespoke - high touch, slower pacing, more personalized than standardized;

You can find hints on a practice's service style based on their interior setting and practice description. As a rule of thumb, homey settings and description keywords such as "bespoke"and "personalized" are more Bespoke. Stronger physician emphasis and presence as well as having other medical offerings are more Clinical. Modern, Instagram-chic settings are more Efficient. Select a style that makes you feel the most cared for.

Evaluating the Injector

1️⃣  - Credentials & Experience

Generally, injectible treatments are performed by Physicians (MD, DO, etc), Physician Assistants (PA, PA-C, PA-BC, etc), Registered Nurses (RN, APRN, etc), and Nurse Practitioners (NP, FNP, etc)*. Often times injectors will also include their education and training background such as BSN - Bachelor in Nusring, MSN - Master in Nuring, etc. If you are researching providers on Cosmable, their title and education information are listed below their names.

Injector experience is harder to gage because many of them had or still have a medical career in health systems. It is difficult to tell aesthetics experience apart from medical experience. The most straightforward way is to review their portfolio of past clients. Injector portfolios can usually be found on social media. If you are researching providers on Cosmable, you can easily navigate to a provider's Instagram by clicking on their names. Sometimes you may also be able to tell their experience level from their relative pricing to other injectors.

*Different states may have different injector licensing requirements

Evaluating the Practice

1️⃣  - Ambiance & Interior Design

The first one may come as a surprise, but we've made the mistake of underestimating how much the setting of a practice impact our subconscious comfort level.

Some practices lean towards creating a medical office environment, some practices go for a homey vibe, while some others opt for Instagram-chic. Look through the interior setting of a practice and select one that would help you feel most comfortable for your treatment. Evaluating the Aesthetician

Years of experience can be an important factor when evaluating aestheticians. If you are researching providers on Cosmable, aesthetician years of experience is marked by the first year in which the aesthetician is licensed in the practicing state.

"How do I know if this medspa is good? How do I know if I picked the right person or the right place?"

We know exactly what you mean because we had the same questions. Some evaluation criteria such as price and proximity are more obvious and can be compared easily. But what else should we look for? Over the years, we've tried a decent share of practices and providers ourselves. We came up with a set of criteria that work for us personally. Hopefully these tips can be helpful for you too!
